London Fashion Week 2013

This years showcasing of the upcoming autumn/winter 2013 collections at London Fashion Week proved to be a total blockbuster compared with past seasons.

Victoria Beckham jetted in to judge the International Woolmark Prize alongside Donatella Versace and Diane von Furstenberg; celebrity designer Tom Ford staged his womenswear catwalk for the first time in London, and Rihanna created a buzz with her debut fashion collection for River Island.

Its eclectic mix of British style puts London head and shoulders above New York, Milan and Paris. Long-established brand heavyweights such as Burberry, Mulberry and Vivienne Westwood sit on the catwalk schedule alongside edgier designer darlings like Christopher Kane, Mary Katrantzou and Erdem.

London Fashion Week 2013 lived up to the hype that surrounded it and eager shoppers get ready for the trends to flood through from the catwalk onto the highstreet.

Top Highlights of New York Fashion AW2013

The latest in New York Fashion was a blur of stunning monochrome pieces to nostalgic madness. Below is a selections of whats to come for AW2013.

Ralph Lauren: RL took us to Russia for their AW12 collection, complete with cossack trousers tucked into boots, styled with fisherman's jumpers and beret styled hats and naval badges. The looks this season is both very unique and entirely commercial

Victoria Beckham: VB described her AW2013 collection as the woman who drinks espresso and devours books. Think that will be for most of us then. Her collection conveyed a mood of school uniform type pinafore dresses with knee-high boots.

DKNY: DKNYs look for AW13 was all about funky rapstar meets chic fashion, which exemplified their look of yellow and red leopard print jumpers, wolly hats, coats, jeans and boots. All very simple and very fun!!!!

Michael Kors: His style for this season very much symbolised a futristic mix of Matrix bodysuits against the colours of blue, black and mustard. The look was completed with long leather gloves, high heels with an investment portfolio in clutch. A very sharp look with lots of masculine tailouring

Marc Jacobs: His AW13 collection had lots of crisp metallics against the warmth of fabric textiles and furs. The style resembled something of a military lineup against the shimmer of 1970's fashion.

Calvin Klein: With lots of wide belts and clinched in waists CK were far from demure in which past collections may have been. Bottle green was on display with plenty of black in an overall look that oozed sophistication.
